If you would like to be a Certified Nurse Assistant and take CNA classes in Massachusetts you must complete 75 hours of coursework and 100 hours of clinical training/rotation. This training generally lasts 8 to 13 weeks. Once you have completed the course you are ready to take the final exam. Before you can take the final exam you will have to have a background check done, and it should be clean. You will also need to have fingerprints taken, have a photo id and two passport sized photos to take CNA classes in Massachusetts. You will need to provide proof of a negative TB test done within 6 months and proof of immunizations.
The certification consists of two parts. The first part is written and the second part is a manual skills assessment. If you fail the test you can re-take it within 24 hours. You can re-take the test up to three times. After the third time of failing the exam you will need to re-take the course.
This certification will be valid for two years. You can renew your certification with a small fee and proof that you have worked at least 8 hours in the 24 month time period.
One of the most respected CNA classes in Massachusetts is through the American Red Cross. It costs $850 and takes place over a four week period consisting of 100 hours of training. You will benefit from experienced and well trained teachers and realistic settings.
