In order to take CNA classes in California to become a Certified Nurse Assistant you must be at least 16 years of age. CNA’s have a very physical job and need to pass a physical exam. You will also have to have a background check completed and anything will be looked at except minor traffic violations. If you will be working in a nursing home or with Medicare patients you will be required to take the state course and exam. You must enroll in the course within 4 months of being hired. It is good for all CNA’s to complete this training for advancement. CNA training in California require you to complete 150 hours of training during the course. In order to qualify to take the exam you will need to have fingerprints, a photo id, and two passport sized photos taken.
